The Old Man

There was a crooked man
Who walked a crookied mile.
He passed over a crooked stile
And found a crooked six pence
and bout a crooked cat,
Who caught a crooked mouse,
And they all lived together
In a little crooked house.


This is old. Done in 2005 for Drawing for Illustration class. The assignment was to illustraite a 'story' and there is a story in that nursery rymeif you know your British history.

No I'm not British. I just like Nursery Rymes.

Any way....... Charcoal, Conte, and Vine Charcoal on about a 24" x 30" peice of white stonehenge paper.

Refrences from National Geographic, Smythsonian Magazine, Random Internet Photos, an Alaskan Mammals book, both my grandpas, my brother's cat Pumpkin, my Chinchilla, and myself.

This picture was also exhibited in several local galleries and coffee shops along with a collection of other student's works as well as the 2005 Juried Student Art Show. It didn't win, but it was an honor to have it picked to hang in the gallery with the winners. It now hangs in my mother's bedroom. Of all the pictures I've ever done, this was the only one she ever wanted to keep.
