Fan art of Akira I did for the fourth year I entered the Bosco's Anime Contest aproximetly around 2003. The best peice of true anime art I've ever done not to mention best city scape I've ever done.
Was trying for a dramatic comic book cover style.
Thats Shotaro Kaneda in front, Kei in back, and Tetsuo Shima in the upper left corner. The pill or capsule in the lower left is the emblem on the back of Kaneda's jacket and the name of his motercycle gang, the Capsules.
And yes, Kei's pose and jacket look similar to this peice [link] I did on an oekaki board. The Akira fan art was actualy done first and I liked how Kei came out so much that the jacket and pose has been reused several times.

You do not want to know how many markers I killed on this image or how many different refrences I had to go through to get the motercycle right.
